Modern Slavery Statement

The Group is committed to upholding and respecting human rights across all our operations and supply chains. This policy outlines our commitment to ensuring ethical practices, prohibiting all forms of modern slavery, and protecting the rights of all individuals we interact with in alignment with international human rights frameworks.

Scope

This policy applies to everyone connected to the Group, including our employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners. We expect all parties within our operations and supply chains to adhere to our commitment to ethical practices and to actively support our efforts to eliminate modern slavery.

Roles and Responsibilities

To ensure effective implementation and adherence to this policy, we have clearly defined roles and responsibilities:

Board of Directors

  • Approve and endorse the policy.

  • Provide oversight to ensure its successful implementation.

Compliance Team

  • Serve as the main point of contact for modern slavery-related matters.

  • Deliver training to employees and key stakeholders.

Our Commitments

A clear definition of roles and responsibilities ensures effective implementation and adherence to this policy. Below is the structure of key roles and their responsibilities:

Compliance with Human Rights Principles

We adhere to the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization (ILO) standards, and local labour laws. We recognise and respect all individuals' rights, including freedom of association, equality, fair wages, and safe working conditions.

Zero Tolerance for Modern Slavery

We strictly prohibit any form of modern slavery, including human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, bonded labour, and deceptive recruitment practices. All work must be voluntary, and workers must have the freedom to leave employment or terminate contracts at any time.

Ethical Employment Practices

Employees and contractors must be treated fairly, with dignity and respect. We ensure that working hours comply with legal standards and that compensation is transparent, fair, and in line with applicable wage regulations.

Supply Chain Accountability

We expect our suppliers and business partners to uphold the same standards of ethical conduct. We actively engage with them to implement due diligence processes and assess compliance through audits, reviews, and a risk-based approach to supply chain monitoring. Where concerns are identified, we work collaboratively to resolve them or terminate relationships with non-compliant suppliers.

Training

We are committed to building awareness and expertise among our employees, suppliers, and partners. Through tailored training programmes, we enable stakeholders to identify and address human rights risks and modern slavery issues effectively.

Reporting Concerns

We encourage employees, suppliers, and stakeholders to report any concerns about human rights violations or modern slavery within our operations or supply chain. Reports can be made confidentially through our dedicated email (mss@liwathon.com) or directly to our designated officers. We ensure that all reports are taken seriously, investigated promptly, and resolved without fear of retaliation.

Escalation and Violations

Escalation

Any reported concerns will be handled in confidence and escalated to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board of Directors as necessary. We are committed to resolving issues transparently and collaboratively.

Violations

Breaches of this policy will be treated seriously, with consequences ranging from corrective actions to termination of employment or supplier contracts. In severe cases, we will engage with authorities to address legal violations.

Policy Review and Updates

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness. Any updates are approved by the Board of Directors and communicated to all stakeholders. Changes take effect upon posting to this page, and we encourage stakeholders to review the policy periodically.
